Dear CEAHU members,
Even though we didn't have membership meetings over the summer our chapter
was busier than ever in June, July and August. We formed a Legislative
Committee and met with both Jack Kingston and John Barrow. Members wrote
letters to the editor and passed along NAHU updates to their clients and
friends. And in August we held a forum at Memorial to bring together local
experts as well as a NAHU representative from Washington.
Have you noticed more people are asking your opinion on healthcare reform?
Words like "pre-existing condition" and "individual mandate" are being used
by people who had never heard of them 6 months ago. We're in a unique
position to both stand up for insureds (and uninsureds) AND understand the
inner workings of our industry. We can see all sides of the debate. I
encourage you to stay on top of things over the next several weeks. NAHU's
site at
www.nahu.org is your best reference. And thank you for helping make the
Coastal Empire chapter an active leader in this huge greassroots campaign!
